  • How do you handle difference?

Do you leap out and argue for change toward generic assimilation?

Do you run scared in fear of contracting or catching it!?

Do you keep your distance and converse among yourselves, your safe group of sameness - with pointing, stares and idle laughter?

Do you ask polite questions and learn what make the "different" happy?

Do you explore the interest group in hopes to see the quality of the sameness that is built and fostered among their collective normalcy and sameness?

Do you connect with them in their journey and pursuit of happiness? Do you share their goodness, smiles and respect for you - no matter how different you may be from them?

Do you know that when you are nice to "different" people and make them smile, you are doing a huge service to the entire world. Making another cascade of smiles stream throughout our existence?

Do you share your learning and positive experiences with others to assist in acceptance?

Do you prepare for future encounters with "different" situations, experiences, people as a stronger person who has an understanding of the necessity of respect and honor for others, sharing their sameness in that pursuit of happiness, which we all struggle with daily?

Last night, I attended a talk - presented by an author who had appeared on Oprah Winfrey, Larry King and The Today Show and been the subject of a documentary on 48 Hours. She is Jenny Boylan, a woman, once a man, dazzled the audience with humor deeply seated in her simple humanity.

Her challenge is to not keep secrets and to definitely, without one doubt in yourself, to be yourself and share that goodness with everyone through respect and honor of our uncounted differences.

You are worthy of Love! - J. F. Boylan

It is impossible to hate anyone whose story you know" - H.S. Boylan
